The origins of Koransha date back to 1689, when Eizaemon Fukagawa I began producing ceramics in Hizen Arita. Eizaemon Fukagawa VIII brought together the best potters and painters
during the turbulent period between the end of the Edo period and the Meiji period
to establish Koransha in 1875.
Koransha received a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1878.
The company has received much praise at numerous international exhibitions. This has spread the name Koransha worldwide and established the brand as a leading brand in Japanese ceramics.
