Antique French Neo-Renaissance Oil Lamp Base

An elegant and highly decorative French Neo-Renaissance oil lamp base,
dating from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1900).

The ornate body is crafted from regulus (spelter, a zinc-tin alloy) with a beautiful dark bronzed patina finish.
It features rich, high-relief classical decorations including putti (cherubs) and leaves.

The top burner is made of solid brass and features its original wick-riser thumbwheel, stamped "BEC ROND GARANTIE".
