Antique / Vintage tin metal box .
The lid features a stylized flying bird (inspired by a bird of paradise or an exotic pheasant) in blue with an orange-red neck.
The bird flies through a circle and is surrounded by curling floral motifs and bell-shaped flowers (reminiscent of fuchsias).
The sides repeat the diamond-shaped cartouches containing the same floral motifs of bell-shaped flowers.
The clean geometric lines (the diamonds and circle) combined with the graceful, organic natural motifs point to the transitional period between Art Nouveau and early Art Deco (circa 1910–1925).
Similar tins were frequently produced during this period in Belgium (by manufacturers such as Schuybroek Hoboken Antwerp)
